Hello, dear reader! Welcome to Out of Bound. This is a site dedicated to analyzing and understanding the effects of modern tech companies, and provides detailed guides to support those trying to break free from social media, proprietary software, and unfair technology. I believe that it is unproductive to report on bad news without offering an alternative, so Out of Bound’s primary focus is on reader education to let you make informed decisions on how to use technology.

About the operator

My name is Natalie. I’ve always liked tech, but I’ve always been just as wary of it. I became obsessed with Edward Snowden after learning about him in high school, and I spent my COVID years learning about the joys of free and open source software. When I graduated with a computer science degree and started working in IT, I finally came to realize that big tech companies only became so big not because everyone needed them, but because they convinced other people to rely on them. This site is my passion project against that.
